This section explores the technical side of the colliery itself, especially the existing winders and the structures surrounding the shafts. 

It looks at the shafts themselves, their construction and the equipment used in them. It also looks at the ancillary infra-structure such as  the  steam raising  and ventilation plant, together with the screens, washery and other auxiliary surface buildings that were in use during the colliery’s lifetime.

Some details of the underground  workings are given and these will be expanded as more information becomes available.
