Leave the M1 at junction 28 and take the A38 towards Mansfield  for about 5½ mile (8.8 km), bypassing Sutton-in- Ashfield, until you reach a junction with theB6023 and the A6075.

Take the A6075  for about 3 mile, bypassing Skegby until you reach a junction with the A617 Mansfield to Chesterfield dual carriageway.  Pleasley Colliery can be seen in the distance on the left hand side of the A6075 soon after passing the Fox and Crown public house.

At the junction with the A617 turn Left towards Chesterfield for about 1 mile (1.6 km), crossing the river Meden and bypassing Pleasley village until you reach a large roundabout. 

At the  roundabout take the1st exit, drive for about 120yd  (110m) and then turn Right into Pit Lane and drive up the hill. Pleasley Colliery is at the top through the wooden height restriction gateway.

From the South via Mansfield

Take the A617 dual carriageway  towards Chesterfield for about 3½ mile (5 km), crossing the river Meden and bypassing Pleasley village, until you reach a large roundabout. 

At the  roundabout take the1st exit, drive for about 120yd (110m) and then turn Right into Pit Lane and drive up the hill. Pleasley Colliery is at the top through the wooden height-restriction gateway.
